Benissa is one of the eight villages located in Valle de Pop or Valle de Jalón.
In the past, the agriculture was its main source of income, however nowadays the tourism is a lot more important. Therefore its population grew from 4000 inhabitants (19th century) to 13000 (nowadays).
Furthermore, Benissa is only 4 km from the coast, 15 km from the Ifach Golf and 20 km from the hospital.
Moreover, Benissa has 4 km of coast. Here you can visit the following beaches: the Pinets beach, the Llobella beach, the Baladrar beach, the Bassetes beach; the Fustera beach and the Advocat beach.

Town Hall: in the past it was the town’s hospital. Since the 1980s it has been the Council House.
Church of the Purissima Xiqueta: it was built during the 1920s. It is known as “the Cathedral of the Marina Alta”.
Franciscans Brothers Convent: this building was constructed during the 17th Century, by a group of Franciscans. Nowadays, only a few monks live there. 20 years ago the bell tower and the cloister were restored.
Franciscans Seminary: it was built at the beginning of the last century. Nowadays, it’s the music and dance municipal school.
Bernia Mountain: it is an ideal place to explore the fauna and the flora. Here people can visit “the Forat” (a rock) and “the Fort” (ruins of a small fort that was built era of Philip II.
